Protecting Pumps From Surface Erosion and Performance Degradation

When mechanical systems sit idle for extended periods, uncoated iron components exposed to water will naturally oxidize. The formation of rust between the impeller and the casing of a pump can cause the impeller to stick or seize. Cathodic electrodeposition (CED) coating, or E-coating, prevents the formation of rust in a pump, which in turn avoids the issue of seizing and prevents damage during start-up.
In this webinar we will discuss the potential for oxidization, the harm it can do to surfaces within the pump and the eventual effect on the performance and efficiency of the HVAC system. We’ll also look at the process for CED coating and how it, along with services for Active Performance Management, preserves and protects system performance. This session will be of interest to contractors, operators, system designers, maintenance personnel and owners.
